Hello!
I’m Elise!
I love to karaoke (at home and in public if I’m feeling brave), and my go-to songs are usually anything off Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill album. I’m a sucker for comfort re-watching my favorite shows, usually 30 Rock, Gilmore Girls, or Broad City. Like many millennials, I have forsaken the childhood-instilled values of ambition and hustle for a lifestyle that is aimed at day-to-day joys such as buying Halloween decorations and listening to audiobooks that take pop-cultural deep dives.
My Experience
I am a Queer and Queer-affirming therapist who helps adults explore and express themselves through gender, sexuality, and beyond!
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been providing mental healthcare to the Champaign-Urbana, Illinois community for the last 8 years.
Through my own personal journey with my sexuality, my experience working with LGBTQIA+ clients on a variety of mental health concerns, and my time spent developing and facilitating LGBTQIA+ Ally trainings for the community, I have developed a love and knack for talking all things gender and sexuality.
I am honored to be the 2024 recipient of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign’s Larine Y. Cowan Make a Difference Award for Advocacy for LGBTQ Affairs.
My Work
I work from the belief that counseling is a sacred space and opportunity for individuals to be heard and respected. I utilize an integrative client-centered approach in which the client is expert of their own experience, wants, and needs. I work to empower my clients through a feminist lens with an emphasis on social justice.
I earned my Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Illinois, license no. 149.020783
